The standards include going up the Eiffel Tower, viewing the Mona Lisa, seeing the Arc de Triomphe, and having a grand love affair with a beautiful Parisian. But I&#8217;ve already done those&#8230;so this is my recently concocted, must-experience-before-I-leave list&#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><del>Write at a fabulous cafe in a different arrondissement every day of an entire week<\/del><\/li>\n<li>Watch the sun rise on the Seine<\/li>\n<li>Have a metro make-out moment (should no suitable participant present himself, a faked version will be accepted)<\/li>\n<li><del>Do a photoshoot in my hood<\/del><\/li>\n<li>Go to the Louvre one more time<\/li>\n<li>Spend a sultry night at a real jazz club (where they actually play jazz music)<\/li>\n<li><del>See the fountain show at Versailles<\/del><\/li>\n<li><del>Find the best street musician in Paris and give him\/her 20 euro<\/del><\/li>\n<li>Go to a speakeasy<\/li>\n<li>Do a friend-filled photo op at Palais Royale<\/li>\n<li><del>Fall in love<\/del><\/li>\n<li>Wander around Bois de Vincennes<\/li>\n<li><del>Join a writer&#8217;s club meeting<\/del><\/li>\n<li><del>Eat frog&#8217;s legs<\/del><\/li>\n<li><del>Dance in the rain on a cobblestone road<\/del><\/li>\n<li><del>Stroll along the promenade des plantes<\/del><\/li>\n<li><del>Visit Cemetiere du Pere Lechaise<\/del><\/li>\n<li>Go to that place in the famous old movie where the actress sticks her hand in the mouth of a wall statue and her amour pretends it bites it off. Is that Paris? Oh yeah, and stick my hand in its mouth.<\/li>\n<li>Wander the streets for 12 straight hours with no agenda<\/li>\n<li><del>Drink a really expensive bottle of wine out of plastic glasses<\/del><\/li>\n<li>Put a lock on the Pont des Arts as an expression of the love that is all around us, every day, if only we take a moment to let it in<\/li>\n<li><del>Do a 20 arrondissement pub crawl<\/del><\/li>\n<li><del>Learn to speak French (hahahaha!)<\/del><\/li>\n<li>Figure out what to do with all those wine corks I&#8217;ve been saving for 3 years<\/li>\n<li><del>Give my kitties a perfect Parisian day &#8211; tartare for dinner, cuddles on the couch, and a perch on the windowsill looking down on the world<\/del><\/li>\n<li><del>Find a pair of shoes I love, and then actually buy them<\/del><\/li>\n<li>Rent paddleboats in Enghien les Bains or those kayaks on the canal<\/li>\n<li>Buy a beautiful piece of original art from a street artist<\/li>\n<li><del>Be quarantined by the French CDC<\/del>*<\/li>\n<li><del>Chase down a mugger<\/del>*<\/li>\n<li><del>Get detained by the French police as a suspect in a bank robbery<\/del>*<\/li>\n<li><del>Leave it all here<\/del><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>* There is a real possibility these items were not participated in optionally&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everyone who visits Paris has their list of must-do activities.
